Bien venidos!
My name is Eunice and as the eldest daughter and first-generation Latina, I wanted nothing more than to make my family proud. I struggled so much with the expectations my family put upon me that I sacrificed my happiness until one day I realized the path I was on wasn’t what I wanted for myself.
I set forth to start my own business, but I was struggling with crippling anxiety and codependency. I was not only paralyzed with fear of failure but also looked to others for answers I needed. The cycle was repeating itself and I knew I needed to break free from it.
I started Therapy and once I started doing the work, I realized that my upbringing was the reason for all my self-doubt. I found my confidence more and more and recognized that the imposter syndrome and negative things I thought about myself didn’t come from me, but from how I was raised and the expectations of my family.
I know I’m not the first to struggle with my identity and confidence, but I also know that Mental health isn’t widely understood or talked about in Latinx households. As a virtual assistant, I hope to help Therapists and other mental health professionals to free up their time and spread their message so that we can help our community heal.
